For all of the new members this year, welcome to the WCMMEA! I am the District Choral VP, and Chad Ray (Warrensburg) is our 9/10 honor choir coordinator. Our district choir auditions are coming up on September 17, and I want to make sure you have all information.
There are 3 documents attached to this email: audition details, invoice (for your PO submitting convenience), and repertoire list with JWPepper links (for 11/12 all district choir and 11/12 treble choir).
I just want to bring a few things to your immediate attention:
1. District Choir auditions are on September 17 at Lone Jack High School. This is for juniors and seniors only. There is a 9/10 honor choir that will take place on the same day, but these auditions are NOT auditions for that choir. You audition and nominate your own students. You will receive more information about that choir from Chad Ray in the future.
2. Our performance date is Saturday, October 22, at Oak Grove High School. This is also an ACT test day, so talk with your students about this. They must be in attendance for the entire rehearsal/performance time.
3. I must receive an approved PO or payment before they are allowed to audition. You can email it to me or give it to me on the day of auditions. I know that every school process is different, so make sure you know the process and get it started. The cost is $10 per student. Feel free to use the attached invoice.
4. You are allowed to audition up to 16 total S/A students and 16 total T/B students.
5. The repertoire list is being provided early this year, so start ordering copies. I know you don't know exactly how many you will need, but even ordering a few now will help you start learning the music once results are posted. Rehearsal tracks will be provided this year for all music once auditions are complete.
